Something real crazy went down in my Newswriting class Thursday. Some girl got into a little beef with our professor; something about how she wasn't instructing her properly and she didn't understand any of the material. The two of them got into a heated debate which culminated with the student making a remark about how she feels like the student from Virginia Tech. One of my other classmates talked to her after class only to get chewed out. For some reason our university isn't taking a whole lot of action to offer security. They had someone stand outside the door to our classroom for 20 minutes. Our class lasts 2 hours.
This is a bonafide threat we're talking about, and our school apparently plans to do nothing about it. Our teacher even sent out an email to the administration, and for some reason they took that as an ultimatum of quitting. School safety is a very serious situation, and if they're not going to help us with handling this. I'm not that scared, just annoyed.
